SMAP X SMAP warmly welcomed F4, Takuya Kimura became F5

Because F4 is highly famous, even Takuya Kimura thought of becoming "F5!" Last night, F4 was invited to guest in SMAP's own variety show "SMAP X SMAP" where two of the biggest kings of Taiwan and Japan finally met. Jerry and Takuya exchanged admirations to each other, and Takuya even personally planned the episode to welcome their special guests.

SMAP X SMAP is shown in Fuji Channel, and has remained its high ratings over the years. Normally, hey would treat their foreign guests at theis "BISTRO SMAP Celebrity Nook" However, because they felt F4 deserved a special treatment, Takuya didnt only transformed himself as F5 but also came up with a short "Meteor Garden" skit, parlor game ans some few interviews. The whole program was taped from 4 to 11 pm. However, captain Masahiro Nakai and Goro Inagaki was absent last night due to other commitments.

Their manager revealed that Takuya really admires F4. He then thought that they could work together and Jerry really wants to see Takuya perform. In his admiration for Takuya, he said, " He is much good-looking in TV than I am. He is really a dream man by women, " making Takuya continuously flattered. In the "Meteor Garden" skit, Takuya and Kimura played Dao Ming Si together, and must choose to wear one of the two Shan Cai's Checkered skirts of Shingo Katori. However, Shingo warned both of them. For tarnishing his image for this short play, Jerry said, "No problem, I just thought it's funny."

The other day when F4 boarded a plane bound for Japan, a lightning struck near Zaizai's window in the Business class. He was very shocked and felt so numb that a memory suddenly flashed in his mind -- 5 years ago in an entertainment show a paranormal expert warned him not to sit together with F3 in a plane. These had brought everyone scared of the thought.

In the plane, Zaizai was sitting with Ken while Jerry was sat beside Vaness. Zazai remembered that at that time, a stewardess was asking for autograph. When the lightning struck, she immediately run towards the secret cabin in rear of the plane . "Little White Rabbit" Jerry searched for his life jacket for the first time while Vanness bowed his head in prayer. Ken stood up and screamed "I don't want to die, I haven't been married yet!" Jerry is really regretful that in every flight that the stewardess instructs the passengers on how to use the life jacket, he sleeps.He said that he should have listened to them.


Ken recalled that during the last time when F4 all went south of Kouhsiung for an autograph session, the plane had to have an emergency landing in Taoyuan airport, and it descended backwards. The door also opened and someone came out sweating and said "nothing, nothing!"


Everyone unanimously thought about Zaizai's "dai sai." he then said, "when we all meet in heaven, don't blame me!!"

POP GROUP F4 PROMOTES TAIWAN'S TOURISM IN JAPAN

Tokyo, March 7 (CNA) Popular Taiwanese four-man pop group, F4, held an international news conference in Tokyo to promote tourism in Taiwan and went to Fuji Television Network for a shoot on the famous television variety show of the Japanese five-man group, SMAP, where they talked about beauty of Taiwan.

F4 members Jerry Yan, Vic Chou, Ken Chu, and Vanness Wu said they were proud to be representatives of Taiwan's tourism at the international press conference organized by Taiwan's Tourism Bureau. The four members all showed off aspects of Taiwan that they favor, from beautiful natural scenery to delicious local fruits and dishes.

F4 talked about beauty of Taiwan during SMAP's show, "SMAP¡Ñ SMAP"-- the most sought after program for Japanese variety artists wishing to make a public appearance. This was the first time that Taiwanese artists have been on the program. Board Chairman of AzioTV Go Fu-hung said the show was designed by Takuya Kimura, a SMAP member and one of Japan's most favorite pop idol, and is scheduled to air next week.

Lai So-chen, director-general of Taiwan's Tourism Bureau said in the press conference that Japanese people made 1.16 million visits to Taiwan in 2006. With the Taiwan High Speed Rail operational, the opening of the renovated National Palace Museum, and completion of the Hsuehshan tunnel, Lai said Taiwan is ready to welcome far more visitors.

At yesterday's press con at Park Hyatt Hotel in Shinjuku, Tokyo, there are almost 200 Japanese press. NHK TV had a full coverage. The 11:00 starting time was delayed for an hour. According to age, F4 came out at the stage with Zaizai leading, followed by Ken, Vanness and finally Jerry. Vanness was limping and they all wore suits of dark gray and black designed by HIRO, Dolice and Gabbana and Dior Homme. Just the suits alone had cost them 2 million dollars.

Zaizai kept high with his antics and Jerry were pressed with questions on LZL and QSK. Jerry just said," Bless her."

As ambassadors for Tourism, Jerry most recommended the National Palace Museum and its Tea Restaurants. Taiwan tea is tasty and delicious. Besides wax apple, Vanness recommended Ba Le, tomato preserves and mango ice. Ken recommended some food delicacies which is very ordinary to people and yet from north to south has distinct different tastes. Vic recommended the beautiful mountains and rivers of Yi Lan. Because of the rumors that the the Tourism Bureau wanted F4 for the idol drama project but is continuously "blocked" by Jerry, he was directly asked by the Taiwanese media in yesterday's conference. Maybe because he was offended, he just frowned.

Zaizai took the shot and said," We three already filled it up for him" Vanness was also a little angry when he said," The four of us really get along very well, no need to put an issue on it."

The Tourism office legal office and Comic Ritz head Ge Fu Hong revealed yesterday that Jerry followed her protest, " Why do others think that it something that concerns me? You must explain for me." Thorough the TV serial "Meteor Garden", Taiwanese group F4 Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, Vic Zhou and Ken Zhu had gained many lady fans, and this afternoon, they would hold a press conference at Seoul Korea's LOTTE Hotel's Grand Reception Hall , attracting a much as 150 international and local journalist groups for coverage and interview, while F4 introduces the beautiful island of Taiwan to the Koreans.

The event was hosted by Taiwan's Jin Jing Zhi,which was attended by the Tourism Bureau Director Lai Se Zhen, Taiwanese Ambassador to Korea Chen Yong Chuo and Taiwan Tourist Association President Zhang Xue Lao and many more VIPs.

Director Lai presented that Taiwan is a beautiful island, Wen Quan and snack havens and golf courses all over the island, which the Korean tourists all love, especially this year on January when the Taiwan spreed rail opens, Taipei to Kaohsiung would only take ninety minutes. Taiwan has the world's 2nd longest tunnel --- Xue Mountain --- one of the world's 4 biggest museums - The National Palace Museum -- and the Taiwanese are warm and friendly. She reported that Taiwan had 16 million tourists last year, but only 200,000 were Koreans. There is no visa required from Korea to Taiwan, and had direct flights everyday. In order to attract the vast Korean market, a special gift for the Koreans was taken in the person of F4 as ambassadors, with the hope of attracting Korean friends to visit Taiwan.

When the host asked each F4 regarding their memorable experiences in Taiwan's scenic spots, Jerry recalled his military days in Kaohsiung and was hurt when he lost his love and wished Koreans can visit Kaohsiung. When this was interpreted to Korean, female journalists just screamed and then laughter broke at the scene. Vanness who is already a Korean favorite because of his duet with Kangta, recommended Taiwan's fruits like mangoes, lychee, peaches and especially presented the fruit delicacy Mango Ice. Ken who already published a cook book, recommended Taichung's spicy pot, pan-fried young oysters, beef noodles, Taiwanese breakfast and snack treats. Zaizai recommended the Sun Moon Lake with its Jade Mansion and small villas around it.

At the same time, F4 also revealed that they are now discussing with many Korean management groups, wishing they can soon come back to Korea to hold their concert.According to sources, as F4 went to Korea on the 8th, a Korean Management firm "SM Entertainment" was with them , and met with fans last night.

At the Lotte Hotel in Seoul yesterday, F4 held their press conference and compared to their March 7 Japanese tour, Jerry was still nervous while Zazai still funny and said "I must remind myself that when I go up the stage, I must talk less."

When an audio speaker suddenly made a loud bang that brought alarm to F4 and then laughter to everyone, that was the only time Jerry felt relaxed.

While in Japan they were asked by the Japanese reporters what places and food they would recommend to the people, the Korean reporters asked them who among the Korean artists they would want to work with. Jerry most wanted to work with Min-sik Choi, (JK: International Premier Korean actor) Zaizai wanted actor Jisub So (JK: male lead of I'm sorry I love you and Memories of Bali, now serving military duty) and said its "Because he and Vanness have the same charming eyelids", while Ken wished to work with Choo Ja Hyun (JK: Korean actress movie awardee for "Bloody Tie) because she impressed him in her role in the Chinese drama"Chu Liu Xiang". The most asked of F4 was, ‘Where is the most enjoyable place in Taiwan?’ They effectively replied to the questions by taking turns to answer saving time and energy. It was already 9 pm when all came to an end. Ken Chu and Zai Zai went for the Celebratory Gathering, Vanness left the group to look up friends whilst Jerry Yen was too tired and returned to the hotel.

Everyone felt that Zai Zai appears thinner with his short hair. He frankly admitted that he did lose some weight due to the death of Xu Wei Lun and the media’s unfair handling. As to whether his hair cut off as a sign of mourning? He responded, ‘I had wanted to cut it off some time back as long hair is very troublesome. But I was shooting ‘Mei Wei Guan Xi’ so I couldn’t and that is why I immediately cut it off when filming wrapped.’

Vanness Wu flew to Africa via Hong Kong when work concluded in Korea yesterday. He will be volunteering with Charlie Yeung for the Children’s Foundation. As F3 approached the gates, Jerry Yen was wearing his baseball cap with the hood of his sweater pulled over, he joked that it is his ‘new image’. Divulging through his agent, Billy, he cleared up Japanese media’s reports of his aloofness during the press conference. In truth, he did not smile as he was not able to because of the tremendous pressure.
